Church Membership

The Bible shows clearly that each Christian needs to be fully joined to a local Church and not attached loosely to it, and Church Membership is a way in which this can be expressed formally.

Membership is the outward commitment of an individual to a Church, and the Church to them. It is a way of saying that "I believe this is the Church in which God has called me to serve and I’m willing to be committed to its life, its people and its vision. I agree with that for which it stands and I want to be under its care and discipline".

How can you become a member of Sunbridge Road Mission? The most important thing is that you are a Christian, having put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Secondly, we ask you to read the Conditions and Responsibilities of Membership, which you will find attached to the Application form. Finally, we would normally ask you to attend Sunbridge for six months before applying for membership. That gives you the opportunity to have a good look at us and decide whether we are the kind of Church to which you want to be committed and in which you wish to serve. For those staying with us on a short-term basis, there is the opportunity of applying to be a Temporary Member. Application forms can be obtained from the Literature Display by the Reception Desk in the Church Lounge.
